Durable, Rustproof Stainless Steel Components

This LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus air spring kit has rustproof stainless steel components that offer long-lasting durability. These components are the roll plates, braided air lines, and air spring attachment hardware.

Roll plates on Air Lift 5000 Ultimate air spring

The roll plates protect the air springs from damage and beef up their load capacity. These sturdy plates help guard the springs from moving parts under your vehicle that might puncture the air bags. The plates also provide a larger surface area for each spring to roll on. The extra surface area gives you a higher spring rate at a lower air pressure, resulting in a better ride.

The stainless steel air lines are tougher than nylon airlines and last a lot longer. They offer extra protection against damage caused by sharp edges and flying road debris.

And the air spring attachment hardware provides excellent corrosion resistance.

Get the Best of Both Springs

The air springs and jounce springs in this system work together to give you the best ride whether your truck is loaded or unloaded. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus air springs have internal urethane foam jounces that protect the air springs and provide added ride comfort when your air pressure is low. The jounces also allow you to temporarily carry a load if the air springs lose air pressure. This gives your 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton pickup truck air springs that are easier to maintain.

Air Springs Level Your Load

Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts extra stress on your truck. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even inaccurate and unsafe headlight aim.

By pairing your existing suspension with LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus air springs, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and get the support you need. The springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity (depending on the weight-carrying capacity of your vehicle) and distribute the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your factory suspension is significantly reduced. LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated equally for front-to-back leveling or independently of one another for side-to-side leveling.

The air springs are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends where the bag is enclosed with steel caps. These caps can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air.

Built-In Jounce Springs Add Control and Comfort

Air Lift 5000 Ultimate air spring with jounce spring inside

The closed-cell urethane jounce spring inside each air spring gives you a more stable, comfortable ride. Each jounce acts as an overload spring and engages when your current air pressure level isn't enough to support your load. So on a rough road, the springs will kick in if needed to absorb bumps and shocks and help you to avoid bottoming out. When the jounces support a load, they adjust progressively - the more weight you pile on, the stiffer they become. The urethane material engages more smoothly than rubber jounces so you get a less jerky ride.

Because these jounces are taller than your factory jounce bumpers, they engage sooner than your factory jounces would to provide better support. And if the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus air springs have insufficient or zero air pressure, the internal jounces will help to temporarily support your suspension and protect it from damage until you can repair or adjust the air spring system.

Installation

This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump in air through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the manual inflation valves (one for each spring). Any air line excess must be coiled up and secured out of the way, so it won't get damaged. The air line cannot be cut or trimmed. And the valves are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere that is easily accessible. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately) that allows you to monitor and adjust the springs from the cab of your truck.

Lifetime Warranty

Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove and return them for a full refund.

Video Transcript for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs Review

Hi there, heavy haulers. Today, we're going to be taking a look at Air Lift's line of LoadLifter series airbags with braided stainless steel lines and stainless steel roll plates. These airbags are custom-fit for your vehicle, so I recommend using our fit guide here at etrailer to ensure you get the right fit. And this is what our airbags look like when they're installed. They install between the axle and the frame of the vehicle, and they have internal jounce bumpers inside them, since we do remove the factory jounce bumper. Also do we just remove the factory jounce bumper, but the entire jounce bumper mounting.

So it's nice that these have that internal jounce bumper for when we're running in conditions maybe where we're unloaded or just a minor load and we've got just a little bit of air in the bags, in the event that we do bottom out, we have that bumper in there to ensure that we don't have any contact and cause any damage to our suspension components. These bags are going to allow you to inflate each side independently as well. So this is great, because you can increase the pressure on one side versus the other to help compensate for uneven loads. And this is our stainless steel kit we're showing off today. The roll plates on top will help ensure that as our suspension rolls, that we've got support for the bags all the way around, some additional support there. That's an increased surface area on the bag to help support the bag for those heavier loads that are going to shift from one side to the other, in a sway condition.

Being stainless steel means that they're going to be corrosion resistance. You don't have to worry about them rusting. And included with this kit you're also going to get upgraded steel lines from the regular quarter-inch hose that comes with it. These steel lines are going to be a larger, thicker, more heavy-duty line than what your quarter-inch lines are. And you can see that they are flexible lines. So you can easily route this line in any kind of location that you need to, because we are going up over our components here, we're wrapping around some stuff.

It's nice that the line is still plenty flexible while being a stronger, heavy-duty line. These bags have an operating pressure between five and 100 PSI. Five PSI is going to be your unloaded condition where you're just normally driving the truck. And it is important that you have that five pounds of pressure in there because if you have no air in there and your suspension is moving up and down, it kind of creates like a suction, like a vacuum, and that can cause the bag to collapse. So that five pounds is going to ensure it maintains its shape. Now these airbags offer 5,000 pounds of support.

Now, this doesn't increase the carrying capacity of your vehicle, this is just how much that these are able to help assist your current suspension in supporting. With these, 100 pounds is the maximum pressure, so that's going to give you your maximum for that 5,000 pounds. But in most cases, when you're loading up your truck, you're not going to be at that 100 pounds. That's going to give you a really stiff ride. From what I've found in most situations, if you have a really heavy load, what's kind of topping out your truck, most of the time between 40 and 50 pounds is going to be a good spot. And that's going to help keep you from putting too much pressure in there and really destroying your ride. Now, sometimes if you are loaded enough, you do have to go to those higher pressures. Just be aware that once you get up over 40 to 50 pounds, it is going to get pretty stiff here in the back. Now, these are manually inflatable airbags. You can see here where I've routed our air fittings to the back of our truck. If you prefer an automated solution, so you can air them up on the go, I recommend Air Lift's WirelessOne compressor system. It includes a Bluetooth remote or works via phone app, so you don't even have to leave the vehicle to air them up. So, our customer just recently installed a gooseneck on his truck here. So we're going to go ahead and put some water weight in the back to simulate the tongue weight. So now we're going to go ahead and hit our test course with our factory suspension. So we're going to go ahead and start on our bumps course. First, it's going to be the uneven bumps section, which is going to simulate hitting a pothole. And the suspension is fairly smooth, but you can definitely tell that we are slammed down in the back. So those coil springs do a nice, smooth job, but they're definitely not supporting the weight that I would feel comfortable with. I can see the hood just lifted up here right now. It's almost reduced my visibility of what I can see right in front of me a little bit. Next, we're going to be going into the even bump section. And this is going to simulate like pulling into and out of your driveway or going over a speed bump. And when we hit these, again, it is fairly smooth, but you can tell that the back's really not supporting a lot of weight. You can feel those jounce bumpers when the back suspension hits. So we're just cruising here in the parking lot. If we we're to hit those bumps at any kind of speed, like you would out there on the highway, you would really notice that there'd be quite a slam there at the back. We're now going to go ahead and get into our slalom section here, which is going to simulate an evasive maneuver. And with our suspension the way it is now, it does feel awfully soft on this truck. So we're going to see how it is but I'm expecting it to be. Oh yeah, even a little bit of movement, you can feel a lot of sway. I don't feel comfortable at all taking this truck about any faster than we are with this kind of weight in here. We're now going to hit our test course once again, since we've got everything loaded up, we've got our airbags in. We're going to start in that uneven bump section. And I can already tell that the ride is significantly smoother than it was before. At the back, when the backs would hit, you could feel it was kind of stiff on the back. We we're already on our jounce bumper so there was really no back give. Now you can actually feel the back end of the truck going over the suspension, the suspension moving. And it's very smooth. It feels actually really good. Now we're going into the even bump section and this is, again, like going in and out of a driveway. And again, it feels very smooth. We do have a little bit of a bounce in the back and that's likely because of our coil springs, and the airbags do have a little bit of a bounce coming up off of it, but it's not real bad and it definitely makes the ride significantly smoother than what it was before. So now we're going to head into the slalom section and this is where we're going to simulate an evasive maneuver. When we get into this section you can tell it definitely has made an improvement. The truck feels a lot smoother and I have a lot more confidence making evasive maneuvers. And that completes our look at Air Lift's LoadLifter series airbags with stainless steel accessories.

  • Best Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Bag Kit for a 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor
The absolute best Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 kit for your 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor is the Stainless Steel Ultimate Plus Air Springs w/ Internal Bumpers # AL38UV. The stainless steel hardware and braided hoses mean they are more resistant to the elements than standard parts and then the internal bumpers ensure the air bags don't get pinched when you don't have much air in them (be sure not to go under 5 psi for this very reason). I always recommend at least checking out an air compressor kit...
